The Black Buoy, Wivenhoe

New owners and management: autumn 2013

An exciting new stage in the life of this historic pub approaches. In autumn 2013, on the banks of the River Colne in the nautical town of Wivenhoe, new owners and management will open the doors to an imaginatively refurbished Black Buoy – a hostelry with a 500-year-old history.

Backed by a skilled and enthusiastic consortium of local residents and investors, the Black Buoy will be reborn as a free house, providing a warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and high standard of fare.

Fast-moving and exciting plans towards reviving the Black Buoy, the oldest pub in Wivenhoe, are in progress. Sign here for regular updates.
